The Maternity Friendly Brief
A closer look at the fabric, waistband, and fit choices behind our first undyed organic cotton brief.
This page explains the practical design decisions behind the brief - what we chose, what we avoided, and where the product is intended to help.
Why this brief exists
This brief was designed for everyday comfort first - with enough softness, coverage, and flexibility to support changing bodies, sensitive days, pregnancy, and postpartum wear.
It is an everyday brief that happens to be considerate of the moments a body shifts the most - not a product defined by any single one of them.
The fabric: undyed organic cotton
The body fabric is undyed organic cotton. We don't rely on synthetic dye for colour - the soft, sand-toned shade comes from the cotton itself, and the layer against skin is kept simple.
- Undyed organic cotton body
- No synthetic dye added to the main fabric
- A naturally soft, sand-toned colour from the cotton itself
The waistband
The waistband is designed to feel soft against the body and reduce the sharp digging feeling that can come from narrow or rigid elastics.
Fit is personal, and no waistband can feel the same on every body. Our aim is gentle support without a tight, cutting edge.
The fit: coverage, room, and flexibility
The fit is intended to offer soft coverage with room for the body to change through the day. It is not shaped as a compression garment; it is designed as an everyday brief with a more forgiving feel.
What this brief does not claim
- It is not a medical garment.
- It is not designed to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
- It does not replace medical advice after birth, surgery, or skin irritation.
- It is not a compression garment.
